Children are empowered to grow in a Christian, semi structured, hands-on environment where they learn through discovery. They are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of challenging activities based on our Core Knowledge Curriculum which includes math, language arts, reading readiness (ZooPhonics), science, social studies, creative arts, and physical education. Teachers observe the children and tailor the program to meet individual needs.
Core Knowledge
The Core Knowledge curriculum provides a common instructional focus, and decreases learning gaps caused by student mobility. By providing a sequenced plan for coherent learning from grade-to-grade, Core Knowledge enhances shared planning among teachers and schools, which helps to ensure quality classroom experiences for all learners. The content-rich curriculum also provides a strong foundation of knowledge for success in high school and beyond.
Bible Curriculum.
Prayer, Bible concepts, Bible stories, and memory verses are an integral part of our entire program to help the children see the relationship to biblical principles in their every day lives. Children are taught about our loving God and His attributes. Our program’s goal is to enhance social, emotional, physical, creative, cognitive, and spiritual growth. We ensure that fun is part of the learning process and allow children to be children.
Home/School Connection
It is very important for the home and school to work closely together for the child’s best interest. Twice a year parents will receive a report of their child’s educational, social and physical development. In addition, there are parent-teacher conferences in November and February. Our school welcomes parents, grandparents, and volunteers to contribute their suggestions and efforts.
Computers We believe that technology is important in the early education setting and have computers in all of our classrooms. We carefully chose appropriate software and interact with the children as they explore. Studies have shown that children who had the opportunity to use computers at the preschool level exhibited increased comfort and willingness in using computers and greater understanding of how to use computers in a more purposeful way in their learning in later years.
